Spares in Motion expands into Asia's growing wind energy market

The wind energy sector in India is rapidly evolving into an attractive, cost-competitive, and utility-scale resource. According to the “India Wind Energy Market Outlook 2023-2027” (GWEC), the country had achieved a cumulative installed wind power capacity of 40.9 GW in 2022, becoming the fourth-largest in wind energy production, only behind China, the United States, and Germany. This fast growth highlights relevant opportunities for local market players, driven by favorable government policies and incentives that promote sustainable development and successful clean energy transition in the country.

In addition to all the new opportunities, the sector also faces significant challenges throughout its entire value chain. For this reason, ensuring effective management and regular maintenance of wind farm operations are crucial and requires strategy and planning, particularly regarding the availability, profitability, and maintainability of wind turbines during their entire life cycle. Indeed, as wind turbines age and become obsolete, maintaining their performance becomes very difficult. The availability of spare parts, interruptions to the supply chain, and/or the discontinuation of production for certain turbine models can complicate this process.

To engage the wind energy boom in Asia and support current and future development challenges, Spares in Motion is expanding its operations, reinforcing its commitment to helping wind farm owners and operators with their spare part needs.

"We believe that expanding our global mission of supporting wind turbine owners and operators, in Asia, we will collaborate with the local community to overcome lack of availability, lead times, and costs of wind turbine components. By providing tailor-made aftermarket solutions, we ensure that our customers can access the components they need more efficiently, to keep their operations running smoothly and extend the lifespan of their assets. Our track record of providing high-quality wind turbine spare parts and repair services worldwide has developed expertise to cover a wide range of wind turbine brands at a global scale. This is what we do wherever you are!" - Marcella Mello | Spares in Motion Marketing Manager
