About us
Megatrade is a global distributor of industrial hardware components, kit-sets and preassembly solutions.
The company was founded in 1977 by Mogens and Elisabeth Galt – hence the name Megatrade.
Since 1977 the company has built up a profound knowledge of hinges, locks, fasteners, handles, clamps, gaskets, slides, gas springs and many other products, primarily sold to the wind/offshore and metal Industry in Denmark.
For many years international agencies with exclusivity in Denmark, including EMKA and Protex, was the primary business. This is still a substantial part of our product range that so far counts more than 10,000 part numbers. The last 10-15 years Megatrade has gone from focusing mainly on the standard range, to incorporate a thinking and approach combining development of custom products and solutions, global sourcing and cost-optimization.
We make it easy for our customers to choose Megatrade! Which is why consulting and service is the core of our corporate culture. Rather than just solving our clients’ problems, we always try to find the best solutions. Our staff has extensive experience and training in relevant fields.
For two decades the wind industry has been an important and exciting segment at Megatrade. We have developed and adapted ourselves to this customer, so that we today stand as a solid, competitive, flexible and global company that despite our size can handle most tasks.
In 2013 we established our Chinese sister company. The Shanghai located company is an independent company, with its own clients. Furthermore it functions as our guarantor for meeting both price and quality expectations from our European and American clients.
Based on our ambition for a closer relation with our clients and associates in Jutland, and a growing demand for sufficient storage space, we have opened new facilities located in Brande that consist of a 1200 m2 warehouse and a showroom.
Today Megatrade counts a total of 22 employees.
